  1. Occam strikes again.
    There is a persuasive mantra for scientists – select among competing hypotheses those that make the fewest assumptions and offer the simplest explanation of the effect.
    It is known as Occam’s razor.
    While there may well be a number of confounding factors, the simplest explanation is that there is a connection between the concentration of salmon farms, sockeye migration routes and specific wild fish decline.
    Spatially mixing wild and farmed salmon stocks is, wherever there are fish farms, recognized as a serious issue.
