The news that DFO and other scientists think a virus may be killing up to 95% of some Fraser sockeye runs is very disturbing. The only way through this is to learn where it is coming from so we can try to stop it. Please help me convince the of Minister Fisheries that she must allow DFO scientist, Dr. Kristina Miller test farm salmon for this disease and report back to us if this is the source of the virus or not.
This seems a small thing to ask given the thousands of years that this fish has nourished people.

Alexandra Morton is my new hero, have all your friends listen to her CBC Radio interview if they are unfamiliar with her work and philosophies.
Ms Morton, don’t stop believing you can make a very big difference in our world, you speak the truth and do so with the full support of logic!(both Truth and Logic are completely unwelcome in politics, so congrats on staying out of that mire, your voice will remain unfettered as an “ordinary” citizen)
CBC Ideas Podcast – Saving Salmon
I sat in the tub last week and listened to this interview for an entire hour.
This interview is about fish, fish farms, fish hatcheries, the destruction of wild fish populations and what can be done about it with lots of biology thrown in to the mix.
It’s very inspirational to listen to Alexandra Morton calmly talk about the situation she found herself in and I’m very glad that Ideas gave her a stump to speak from for an entire hour.
This pod cast is only available for 4 weeks from 11jan17

Many of the other Ideas shows are also well worth listening to.
